Service Description
The practice of Yin Yoga is based on ancient Chinese philosophies and Taoist principles which believe there are pathways of Qi (energy) that run through our bodies. Yang forms of yoga i.e. Hatha and Vinyasa, focuses on the muscles of the body; whereas, Yin Yoga targets the deep connective tissues, like fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones by supporting the body with props like bolsters, blocks and pillows, and holding poses for a longer period of time.. The slower and more meditative nature of Yin Yoga allows one to turn inward and tune into the mental and physical sensations of the body. Adding Therapeudic Sound or Reiki to Yin Yoga is an enriching experience, and highly recommended.
